Meet Dr. Bonnevie

David R. Bonnevie, DDS

Providing orthodontic care has been incredibly rewarding for me, and I enjoy using my skills to improve the lives of others. I truly enjoy honing my skills on orthodontics, Invisalign®, and dental apnea treatments, and am passionate about what I do. I am a perfectionist in my work, always providing comfortable and effective treatments for people in my community.

Education and Continuing Education

I attained my Bachelor of Science degree at State University at Buffalo College. I then continued my studies at the State University at Buffalo School of Dentistry, graduating in 1980 with a degree in General Dentistry.

Although my formal education is complete, I have continued my studies throughout my career. I have taken more than 1,500 hours of continuing education, with a great focus on orthodontics, Invisalign, and dental treatment for sleep apnea. I know that as a professional, I must always stay abreast of the latest techniques and methods in my field. I care greatly for my patients, and always want to provide them the highest level of care available.

In the Practice

I love my profession, and have been helping fix people's teeth since 1980. I enjoy creating beautiful smiles, and my practice has allowed me to become personally acquainted with many local families. I always love seeing former patients around town.

I have a particular interest in Sleep Apnea and the various ways dental treatment can provide relief. I was diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea years ago, and I decided to educate myself on the dental treatment for this condition since I didn't want to tie myself down with the CPAP machine. This phase of dentistry has been very rewarding and helping the patients treat their sleep apnea has been also exciting.

Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to surround myself with great partners, associates and staff. My team and I work well together and are striving for the same goal, which is to provide quality affordable care for our patients. We love to have fun in our office, and this makes every visit great for our patients as well!

Family Life

I was born and raised in Niagara Falls and live in Lewiston, only 11 miles from my office. My wife, Kari, is the office manager at our office, Dental Care Associates. We have three wonderful children and 7 grandchildren. Our son, Phillip, is an architect in Buffalo and is married to Danielle, a pediatrician in Tonawanda. They have two children, Claire and Alyse. Our oldest daughter, Julie, is a registered nurse in the Women’s Clinic at the VA Hospital in Buffalo and is married to Christopher Scott, an account manager at Citibank in Amherst. They have three children, Jake, Charlie and Jenavieve. Our youngest daughter, Michele, is a general dentist in my practice at Dental Care Associates and is married to William Vaughn, a Food and Human Safety Coordinator for Wegmans. They have two children, Amelia and Christian. Whenever we are not working we love spending time with our extended families, enjoying the grandchildren especially.
